Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

A master piece in my eyes Steve, so strong in its perfection!!
And just as you wrote in the song info "lots of proggy goodness", yes, indeed!! The instrumentation/arrangement and flair of the track brought me straight back to the Genesis with "Nursery Crime" or "Foxtrot".... wow!! You made a complex and high professional work here: the lyrics and vocals deserve a special mention being so excellent expressiv. Great cool drum lines (hey, did I hear 32nd double bass drum triplets ... ;) ?)
Excellent work Steve, I can agree with you choosing this song , I simply love it my friend!!!

"I don't say the things you think I should say, and I don't think the things you say I should think"
Great lyrics, great phrasing, great vocals, great guitar dissonance, great song. Nice twist at the end :)

Steve, you da man! This track is awesome! The vocals are, well, awesome! I love your guitar work - it's impeccable. The drum track is killer. Just awesome music. There is nothing wrong with the sound quality here.

No wonder you chose this as a favourite. It is so filled with extremely good themes, tunes and top class lyric, describing the word "Fine" (meaning not fine at all). Nobody needs help with strings attached, a good point. When someone offers their help, but with some hidden agenda behind it, they are the ones that really need help. Among friends help is free of charge!
This song could go on forever and I would still love every minute of it, it is so superb in every aspect.

First off...thanks for your visit to our page. You're always welcome there...
Wow...this song is sensational. Love the lyrics and vocal delivery. Great musicianship and production, too. Although I'm not a big fan of Progressive Rock, this song held my interest throughout! Excellent guitar tones... Nicely done!

I like the darkness behind this track and the lyrics are brilliant - I can definitely relate!. Wish I'd written this one! Captured that prog rock styling really well and you've done fantastic job on the instrumentation. Excellent track on every level

not bad sound quality at all with the 112kps..
in fact.. it's sounding crisp and clear in the studio speakers which is a good thing..
this tune deserves to have every note stand out!
GREAT work Steve!!
I like that raw, dark Rock sound here, together with a very clear structure. So very well made, arranged and mixed. I like the use of organ and synth here as well, especially in the part around 4:15 (intermezzo). And you are still capable to add all those emotions in it. Wow, this is great!
