Peter and I have been playing and singing together in a small group for several years but have used this years Covid time to do these lockdown tunes together even though it is remotely. So the Uke Duo was born.
With the addition of Richard on Bass and Roger on Percussion The Flukes was formed. We are now joined by Dave and Mike on Ukes. Unfortunately Peter is not available to play with us at the moment having had a stroke.
I also sing in the band Muzak which is an six piece band formed from a U3A group, although we are independent of the U3A now we mostly play blues and rock

Hi Martyn, hoping all's well with you.
Thanks so much for your great comments about my instrumental version of Drive My Car. I really appreciate it.
Yes, I'm still recording things that intertest me. The Beatles are always inspirational.
Have a creative 2025.

Hi Martyn, I've just recorded my cover of Andrew Gold's classic song, Never Let Her Slip Away.
I'd be thrilled if you could have a listen to it.
Cheers.

Hi again Martyn. My latest album...Keeper Of The Lightning, is now completed and is available as a FREE download.
Along with a few Twangy Shadows style instruments there are also quite a few nice Rhythm & Blues songs. I think that you'll especially enjoy those...and could be swayed into covering them yourself with your band?
Hope that all's well with you and your band.
Have a great week.

Hi Martyn, thanks for calling in. Really appreciate it.
I’m currently wondering whether to do a great old blues song by Lazy Lester ...Tell Me Pretty Baby. There’s also a great cover of it by a US trio called, GA-20. Check out both versions on YouTube they’re both totally fabulous. Cheers.

Hi Martyn...apologies for mis-spelling your name on my previous message to you. Ooops!
My version of John Mayall's song, 'Top Of The Hill', is now on my Major Snagg page.
Oh boy, I had a lot of fun playing that. Hope you dig it.
I'm considering doing a cover of the Chuck Berry song, 'Promised Land'. ... that's if I can get all the words right. I'll have to slow it down 'cause they come thick and fast. I'll have to have a 'crib sheet' for sure. :-)
My fave version is Elvis's version...but Chuck's version is excellent.
I'm willing to have a go at all sorts of songs for this new album of mine... 'Keeper Of The Lightning'.
My intention is to make it a collection of classic songs from different genres. So far there's 'Twang'... 'Blues'. Next couple will be straight ahead, Rock 'n Roll. After that I'll get into pop/psychedelia.
Isn't playing music fun.
Let me know when you record your next song.
Cheers.

Hi Martin. Great to hear from you. Hope all's OK.
Yes, I've been enjoying Blues just at the moment.
My next recording is going to be a cover of Top Of The Hill. It's a song on the John Mayall LP...A Hard Road. Peter Green was his guitarist at that point in time.
On the album the song is in the key of Eb. I'll be changing that!
There have been quite a few changes here o soundclick but we just have to go with it.
Have a great day...

Hi Martin, thanks for dropping by.
Yes, the music journey continues. I have done a few collaborations with my on-line friend, Jesus Oldman. He sent me some lyrics and I added more and worked them into a song. The first one is called, Rock & Roll Is My Girlfriend. It's on my Stereoland album...a free download...as are all of my albums. Jesus Oldman albums are all free too.
We've a few more waiting to be completed.
I recently treated myself to a Line 6 Pod Go processor. A fine piece of kit. It's a very user friendly unit as was the unit it has replaced...my old Line 6 Pod (2.0)...the famous red kidney bean shaped amp simulator.
I've used that constantly for about 20 years. It isn't broken or faulty....I just need a more modern unit.
I'll have a listen to you recordings. In the meantime, keep on enjoying making music.
This isn't something I can turn on or off, it's become part of me. When it stops being fun I will but I can't see that ever happening. Cheers Martin.

Hi Martyn, I don't mind if you did a cover of my song, 'Save Yourself' with your band... Just say that I'm the writer of it, if you record it and post it on your soundclick page. If you'd really like to do it, then I'll email you the chords and lyrics. Let me know.
