I am a semi-retired Hospice Chaplain who went to School at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. From 1966-1969, played in the USF wind Ensemble from Trombone to Percussion. Went to Viet Nam for two years, returned and finally received my B. Mus. Clifton Willians, McBeth, and others were my favorite's. Worked with McDonalds Corp. then Insurance. However, I always came back to music mainly as a Jazz Keyboardist. Worship activities, led me to the organ from which I started arrainging and editing Hymns until recently. My idea's were not mine. I once asked Dr. Williams if I could use some of his idea's for my classes in arrainging. He replied," I took mine from Arron Copeland!" I felt as if I was free to "do my thing." When he died, I was in morning for quite some time. In 1987, I moved to Jacksonville to help my aged parents. Again I was surprised by "the organ of the future." Digital sounds, sequencing, and the mixture of the organ and digital sounds. One of the Pastors urged me to take a CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) unit at a local hospital. WOW, I then knew that the Chaplaincy was my future. I was also a First Responder Chaplain and when the quake hit Haiti, our team was there in two days. Never had I seen such distruction. A friend of mine told me about a position in the "Great Northwest." I was on a plane within the month. This is where I wish to live my life.

Almost forgot to tell that I am a member of PHI MU Alpha Music Fraternity and proud of it. The 7 seasons that I contucted the Daytona Beach Summer Wind Ensemble, I was greatly moved by the presence of some members of the London Symphony and some of their students. We were able to do exciting music due to these players. It did help improve my conducting skills. BTW, the English downbeat is quite different from the American.

I am so excited that I found this site. For me it has been a coming home of sort. The "Wind Ensemble" is made up of the best with little doubling of parts. So many of the larger "Bands" are duplicating parts that make good music sound mushy. Moreover, the snair drum takes a snar sound with no open roles. IMHO, the second "SINPHONIUMS" by the US Air Force Emsemble clearly brings out open roles with a distinct "Flamadiddle" with the Piccillo solo. Well done, cept for the tymponie being sharp. You will find it especially at the end. LOL
