For Leonard Antley aka“Lenny Soul”,music has always been an inspiration in his life.Born into a family of singers from South Carolina,Soul first fell in love with music,like most R&B singers,in church.Lenny Soul says of his love for music,I love to sing because music has such a powerful message.”It was not until Lenny Soul moved to Havelock,NC, where he credits his aunt for helping him finally use his talents, and now that everything is finally coming together, the world will now get to sample what many believe is one of the most talented singers to ever come out of the south.His style is hard to put a finger on, but some use such words as brilliant, gifted,and crazy vocal skills. At 33 years old,Lenny Soul is finally finding his niche and with the upcoming release of his debut album,Moving On,everyone will soon be talking about this crooner. He is the nephew of Jonathan Green, one of the most influential painters of our time. Soul credits his uncle with inspiring him to pursue his music career. It is very clear that talent is overflowing in this family. As asinger/songwriter, Lenny Soul plans to help bring R & B back to where it belongs, at the top of the charts. When asked which artist influenced him, Soul says he goes way back to the greats like Nat King Cole, The Isley Brothers, Michael Jackson and of course his favorite singer of today, Donnell Jones.Some say that Lenny Soul is going to take the music industry by storm. As he grows and continues to write beautiful music and sing heart wrenching melodies, it’s clear that he plans to settle for nothing but success. “Moving On” is a very personal album because people will get to see life through his eyes. The album covers a seven year period of his life that deals with love, heartache, and growing into a man. He is a scientist, when it comes to writing and people are going to be very surprised when they hear this album. A name befitting the soulful crooner, we think everybody needs a little Soul in their lives.
