Kim Savage also known as Ka-Bar was raised in Carson, California. As a child she had an interest in music, television, writing, and sports. Kim chose band as an elective in Junior High School and learned to play the drums. After receiving her high School diploma, she enrolled in a local junior college and after a year transferred into California State University of Fullerton. She majored in Mass communication with an emphasis on radio, tv and film and graduated with a bachelors of arts. In 1996 she appeared on a song entitled, "The Hiest" which was placed on the movie soundtrack "Set It Off" starring Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, and Vivica Fox. The soundtrack sold over one million copies. She also appeared on Warren G's, "I Want It All" album on a song entitled, "World Wide Ryders". In 1999 this project sold over five hundred thousand copies. Kim Savage (Ka-Bar) produced nine of the tracks on her 2010 project "Paperwork". She also wrote and recorded the twelve songs that make up the project. On this project Ka-Bar has given birth to songs that have the potential to be classic material. On a song entitled "One Yacht Club" track 3, which is also the name of her entertainment company, she demands your ear. She talks about the hustle, the grind and her concern for people on the city streets. She proclaims that she is the great Ka-Bar with a rhyme/candy apple lip gloss yeah I'm on the grind. Her 2010 hip hop project is a must hear fo-real.
