My dad is Afro-American and my mother is Samoan (South Pacific). Born in Chicago, IL and raised a good part in Hawaii, I've been exposed to all types of different cultures and people. It has been an eye opening life experience to save the least. Hip Hop has always been my first love. I grew up listening to DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Leaders of the New School, EPMD, Boogie Down Productions, and later on Common, etc. I also used to jam out to the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, etc. (Jazz). My music taste has expanded to different styles and types, but hip hop will always be my first love. I've been expanding out using various styles of music (especially Polynesian/Samoan/Hawaiian, etc.). I started singing, and found that my voice is at the range of a high tenor, so I'm trying to explore avenues with that. I try to keep my mind open to different things and constantly have a song in my head, or at least one that I'm trying to improve on. I am 1/2 of the production team TOA Sound, and 1/3 of a group called Classic Blue (Polynesian styled reggae with punk and rock). I am currently working on a TOA Sound project. But, to view some more of the music I've done so far: http://www.reverbnation.com/avei http://www.myspace.com/aveimusic IF YOU WOULD LIKE SOME TRACKS, EMAIL ME AT [aveimusic@gmail.com], AND WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT.
