Va2Ca is a group composed of JB, the musician, and Helena, the vocalist. JB and Helena came from the same province of Bulacan, Philippines. There, they became schoolmates at St. Mary's Academy. However, they only managed to talk to each other and to develop their deeper friendship when they migrated to the United States. JB migrated to Canada then to Virginia while Helena migrated to California. This is where the name, Va2Ca (Virginia to California), originated.
Their recording story will not be complete without the obvious fact that they both record their music and vocals separately. Helena records the vocals and transfers it to JB who does the music and arrangement of each songs. The songs get posted upon each other's approval. This only shows how difficult and long their recordings take.
JB and Helena record their songs not only for the sake of posting them; more importantly, they record songs because they enjoy doing it. Furthermore, it helps keep their love alive for each other. Music has played a very important role in their relationship. However, unlike the music that they collaborate, their hearts only beat a single beat full of love for each other; and it echoes back and forth from Va2Ca.
