Ya Boy Ju, born Julius Cunningham is a fresh and mature hip-hop talent with concentrated skills in writing, rapping, and producing hip hop tracks. He has been producing untouchable rhymes and hip hop tracks since 2002. As owner and CEO of his independent record label, GRIND IT OUT RECORDS, LLC, Ju continues to lead and prepare himself for success. Ju's most notable Mixtapes are 2008's "The Leak Vol.1" and "Eastside Ether", 2009's "ORANGE KUSH", & 2010's "CERTIFIED GRINDIN". All available on DatPiff.com.
Ju was born in Boston, MA in a rough neighborhood called Mattapan aka 'Murdahpan'. His father was murdered just next door to their home when Ju was only 7 years old, leaving his mother alone to raise he and his brother.
After a few months of moving around his mother moved her family to Decatur, GA where they lived until he was 14. The close-knit family of three then settled in Lithonia, GA and Ju has been representing the eastside ever since.
Currently, Ju is finalizing independent albums "MICROPHONE FIEND" available on iTunes, and “ATL 2 JAX” a Yung Playaz Cashing Checks aka (Y.P.C.C), collaboration with labelmate “Dat G T.B”. And his new Mixtape, "CLOCKIN GRIP". He plans to expand his music throughout and beyond his city by performing local and out of town shows, seeking and obtaining effective management.
Ju collaborated with local aspiring artist, Teflon Don, and produced "Buffie Booty", which won them the ARTIST OF THE MONTH title of a contest hosted by MUSICPOWERS.com. The song was heard through the airwaves and made its way to feature on Buffie the Body's, "Still Larger Than Life the DVD". In the interim, Ju made his footprints onto RMP Magazine and RebelVision.com where he further introduced himself and GRIND IT OUT RECORDS to the industry.
From street life to good times, Ju's music speaks to the hearts of those who can relate or can learn from it. A versatile selection of tracks enhanced with Ju's lyrically impecable flow produces impressive masterpieces of his testimonies.
