Martel Star is a songwriter and rapper from Columbus, Ohio currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. Martel grew up in the church inspired and surrounded by music as a young child. He began writing music at 16 years old and he studied musical theater at Capital University ranging from pop, r&b and hip hop. For the past eight years he has continued to perfect his songwriting skills to obtain longevity in the music business.
In January 2012 he joined Columbus, Ohio based Empire Entertainment as a songwriter. His most prominent work to date is songwriting for fellow Empire Entertainment artist Kei Mari on her February 2012 mixtape "Genesis".
In May 2012 he shifted his talents to rapping, with a “ratchet-pop” musical style, with him being the ultimate combination of the two. Martel’s new EP, “Welcome To Emerald City” was released on March 16, 2018. He is ready to show the world who he is and what he can do, so stay tuned because there is more to come!
