My music usually gets lumped into the country category, but I gotta rock. It's all about rhythm, jumping guitars, and original lyrics. I am a sworn enemy of the cliché, and that's probably why I'll never get anywhere in this business.
I've been playing guitar since the age of 14. I also play bass and a little drums. I'm a sucker for percussion, and most of my songs feature some tambo, hand claps, shakers, folding chairs, anything I can use to keep the beat.
I play solo shows, I play with a full band. Sometimes a duo. I've been living in Missoula, Montana since 1993. I came here from Seattle, where I played in a couple of oldies bands. My very first band, Rotten Tuna, was in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1984. In 1986-87 I reunited with two of my Rotten Tuna buddies in Denver and played in a trio called the Potatoheads. It was in Denver when I first saw the Beat Farmers live, and my musical future was set from then on.
