The Acoustikats have come together as a band following a successful recording project in 2008. Craig (Bruesewitz) had written a number of songs. Jim (Schmoldt) wrote some bass parts for them and they went into Rami Espinoza’s Firebird Recording Studio to create the CD project “Boogie or Not.” Rami ended up writing some great guitar parts for a couple of the songs and playing on the album. Paul Petted was gracious to lend his percussive expertise to the mix. Along with Gary Kitchin, Steve Bruesewitz, Elmer Klein, and Brian Stafford the band performed live for the CD release party at the Milwaukee Firehouse. Having such a good time and producing a tight live sound the band decided that they would take other gigs to promote the CD. The Acoustikats play good time rock and roll with some ragtime mixed in for fun. Lyrics are humorous and light hearted. In live performances the Kats cover George Throrogood, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Allman Brothers to name a few. Check them out if you can.
