I am so excited that I found this site. For me it has been a coming home of sort. The "Wind Ensemble" is made up of the best with little doubling of parts. So many of the larger "Bands" are duplicating parts
that make good music sound mushy. Moreover, the snair drum takes
a snar sound with no open roles. IMHO, the second "SINPHONIUMS"
by the US Air Force Emsemble clearly brings out open roles with a distinct "Flamadiddle" with the Piccillo solo. Well done, cept for the tymponie being sharp. You will find it especially at the end. LOL
Almost forgot to tell that I am a member of PHI MU Alpha Music Fraternity and proud of it. The 7 seasons that I contucted the Daytona Beach Summer Wind Ensemble, I was greatly moved by the presence of some members of the London Symphony and some of their students. We were able to do exciting music due to these players. It did help improve my conducting skills. BTW, the English downbeat is quite different from the American.
