Story behind the song
With the health-care debate going hot and heavy and the far right getting hostile and misleading on such a no-brainer issue, I needed a venue to vent my frustration over the hypocrisy.
Lyrics
MY COUNTRY TOO (vocal version posted later) I don't much care for country music but I've got something y'all need to hear Those on the right seem out to conquer but we're all Americans and will not fear ------------------------------------------------------------------- You preach the right to life so loud but if found guilty then hang em please Those mounted heads hanging on your wall really tell me your pri-or-ities ------------------------------------------------------------------- Preaching family values, need to save my soul today Better stop and ask your God to see what he will have to say It's just the e-pit-o-me of hy-poc-ri-sy you see For you to think your ways are also my des-tin-y ------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't have to wear the American flag to prove I love my country too In-tim-i-dation, man-ip-u-lation ain't gonna make me follow you ------------------------------------------------------------------- You're all for spreading freedom wide as long as you can set the rules It ain't gonna happen this time my friend won't pay your price, we're not your fools -------------------------------------------------------------------- (c) 2009 Ken Hill
