Story behind the song
This began with the third, last piece; featuring a piano melody. I then added the middle part, initially having it last. I later resurrected an old medieval-sounding organ bit I'd had on hand, and placed it first, arriving at the final arrangement. The whole thing gave me a strong visual image of the Vlad "Dracula" geographical setting, so the title was unavoidable at that stage.
