Story behind the song
I wrote most of this song by myself one day. I had George Strait in mind for this song, in fact, I wrote it specifically for him. That is NOT what I normally do, but it just felt right. I got stuck in a few places and Tommy and Brett were gracious enough to help me put in the finishing touches. Strait's manager Erv Woolsey's company, "Muey Bueno Music" put the song on hold and sent the song to George. They were excited, and SO WAS I!!! But of course, I never heard if he ever even listened to it or not. I honestly cannot imagine him not recording this song. Oh well, it is still dedicated to him.
