Story behind the song
I recently saw Hank Williams and Kid Rock on Tv and Kid Rock was rapping to a country tune and it just suddenly hit me, and I wrote the song in 15 minutes.
Lyrics
Country Meets Rap Key of E Tempo 118 (Chords) E/A/B7 Verse – 1 Country music just aint the same like it was in the early years You won’t hear “She’ll Have To Go” or “There’s A Tear In My Beer” If you turn your dial to what’s in style it aint country and it aint rock It’s the new kind of music on the radio well it’s country with a lot of talk Chorus Country meets rap and that’s the way she’s gonna go, You won’t hear the great George Jones or Hank on the radio I don’t like it any more than you and here is the reason why(hold note) Well It’s “Bustin A Move” with a new kind of groove to the tune of “Walk On By” Short Solo – Electric Guitar Verse -2 If Waylon and Johnny were here with us well they’d still be singing the tunes, that made country music what it was and what it meant to me and you And to tell you the truth like Waylon said “I Don’t Think Hank Done It That Way” It’s new country music with a hip-hop beat that’s on the air today Repeat Chorus (Vocal-Count 1-2 – 1,2,3,4) Rap Segment(rap to rap beat) Listen to what I’m sayin yo It’s the new music that’s playin Joe Got it chillin through my heaphones With MC Hammer and Mr.George Jones It’s the new beat on the street bro We’re crankin to the music of Puff Daddy And Hank Snow You grooving to what I’m sayin bro It’s hip-hop country with my homey Don Hoe Repeat Chorus End Words & Music By Mike Sharpe – Copyright -2005
