If the Cranberries and the Talking Heads were in the same band...
And just what do we know about these Wilcoxes? Are they the right sort?" - EM Forster Are the Wilcoxes "the right sort"? That may all depend on who you ask. Some may feel that respectable, young women have no business playing guitars and being so opinionated. However, music fans throughout the Southeastern U.S. are thankful that the five talented women of the alternative rock band, The Wilcoxes, don't necessarily aspire to being the "right sort". They have responded with glowing praise to the band's first album, "Indeed". Recorded in Bath, England with producer John Parish (co-producer of PJ Harvey's new album), this EP delivers all the moody angst you could ask for. But, don't expect grunge or a garage band sound from the Wilcoxes. From the catchy hook of "I'm Beautiful" with it's light-hearted cynicism, to the haunting, off-beat love song "Blue", this is a unique release the band is proud of. Working as a musical collective, guitarist Kelly Fulton provides the songwriting spark with vocalist Spring McClure often writing lyrics. Bassist Claudia Urbina, keyboardist Michelle Hospital, and drummer Carol Ascari contribute arrangement and lyrical ideas. The Wilcoxes are excited about their future prospects, including an imminent summer tour and a 12" remix of their hit single "I'm Beautiful". They've also been turning out much new material. Says Spring,"Our new songs have even more edge, more depth. We can't wait to go into the studio for our next recording." "Indeed", chime the other Wilcoxes. The Wilcoxes . . . INDEED! THE WILCOXES ARE: Kelly Fulton - Guitar Michelle Hospital - Keyboards Spring McClure - Vocals Claudia Urbina - Bass Carol Ascari - Drums

Story behind the song
We wrote the music first. Spring thought it sounded a little insane, hence the lyrics and title.

...today I'm feeling no pain....
