Hi, I am John Record. I started out in Music as what they call a "conscious MC". My first album was released under the tag J.Rec. This evolution had its roots on the first cd but was furthered by my experience with mega platinum producer, Damon Elliott, son of Dionne Warwick. I was Damon's personal assistant for a year starting in October 2006. Damon produced for such divas as Mya, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Pink, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and his cousin, Whitney Houston. Being around pop music and people who were experts at the craft of constructing powerful songs centered around an amazing voice influenced my music a lot. So, check out the interesting cross between the audacity of an underground conscious MC and the harmonies and instrumentation of pop, r&b, and soul music.
