Story behind the song
I wrote this song out of pure desperation. I was unable to see my children for months because of a break up with my ex wife. The song says exactly how i was feeling at the time.
Lyrics
SONG FOR MY CHILDREN Verse 1 Thinking about you, when I’m all alone Worrying for you, are you safe at home Daddy doesn’t understand it He tried to stay But Daddy loves you anyway Verse 2 I’d come to see you, but there’d be no-one home Try to catch a glimpse of you, hear you on the phone I can never get a message to you Night or Day But Daddy loves you anyway Chorus Oh Mummy can’t you see That you’re not just punishing me Their little lives will never be the same Together we made them We are both to blame Verse 3 It’s been too long now, for months we’ve been apart I’ll never give up though, there’s so much love in my heart I just can’t stand this feeling I’m getting worse each day But Daddy loves you anyway Repeat Chorus Verse 4 We’ve got to hold on now, we’ll be together soon still got you’re presents from Christmas, I need to give to you Some day you’ll understand it There’s so much to say But Daddy loves you anyway But Daddy loves you anyway But Daddy loves you
