Countrygirl meets Citygirl. Nature meets Industry. That’s Andrea Revel in a nutshell. Citysong, Andrea’s LP due this summer, is a sophisticated hybrid of folk and electronica. However, her debut LP, Mile 0 (zero), remains a devout testament to her folk roots, with performances that seamlessly blend the acoustic sounds of guitar, sitar, hammered dulcimer, B-3 Organ, cello and piano. Mile 0 was proclaimed one of the best folk albums of 2000 by CKUA radio and carved Andrea a niche in the Canadian music scene. Commercial and indie radio play, national television (Much Music), numerous articles, interviews, and critical acclaim are just some of Andrea’s successes. Throughout February and March of 2002, the single ‘Hands Bound’ received over 4 plays a day on Calgary's commercial radio station, Peak 107.3. In the Fall of 2002 her songs graced four episodes of the SportsNet Mountain Bike program Drop In. This spring Andrea returned from her new home in Montreal to be featured in the Alberta Songwriter Series at the Epcor Centre of Performing Arts. Andrea is also well known for spearheading the Rogue Folks series bent on showcasing urban folk artists. Rogue Folks (Kris Demeanor, Chantal Vitalis and Andrea) is known for a wry, irreverent and downright clever show. Andrea can hold her own on and off the stage. She has performed with top acts The Rheostatics, Ashley McIsaac and Karen Savoca.
