VERSUS
VERSUS is a Canadian hiphop-based collective headed by producer/emcee Shae Morin and based in BC, Canada.
EXCERPT FROM THE VERSUS BIO POSTED FOR THE "UNDER THE VOLCANO MUSIC FESTIVAL"
"His live show combines high energy and a kinetic connection to the audience, borne out of his underground sensibilities and his deep commitment to youth. He has released 2 albums of original material, and recently participated in the 2.8 collaboratory project at Vancouver Folk Festival, lending his break-beat drumming, bass playing, and mic-gripping to the sonic stew. Versus is by far one of the most interesting, ethically-sound & talented MC’s to emerge from the new wave of talents in Canada and he’ll go on to make important contributions to the hip hop community."
Shae blends the ethic and concepts of sample-based hiphop with the honesty and flexibility of live musicianship and loses nothing in the translation.
Versus' has performed extensively throughout Canada and the U.S connecting with audiences in an emotional way and rocking crowds.
The sophomore Versus release entitled “Combat” quickly reached #23 Canada-wide on campus radio charts and charted all over Canada with regular airplay from Ottawa to BC based solely on people enjoying the music.
