Story behind the song
The moment I knew......
Lyrics
The Cross So cautiously - looking to the dark horizon, waiting for The Cross to appear Eyes burning bright anticipating the challenge not knowing that its come and standing here too blind to notice proximity The cross advancing drawing near Without a word a welcome here and to the heart it is endeared When will the cross choose to declare that it's been borne and dragged this far? Pressing so deep yet leaves no scar Take it, hold it, caress it, mould it Keep it, teach it, love enfold it So longing now for the promise of deep passion when the challenge is revealed And when the glow forming on the dark horizon brings notice that the fate's already sealed The gift is given so freely Without knowing, taken received Then with a smile it sits before me valuing all that it has achieved Now the question is how precious is possession compared to attraction of The Cross? And so it waits for the ultimate decision knowing how the union creates loss The Cross now used as a worthy crutch The weight bearer of so much Within the anguish the vision pure is wrapped and safe forever more.

Hi Chris, Another beauty from your golden vault. Excellent vocals and really like the chorus. I just got back from Merry Old England myself. My daughter just started grad school at Brunell outside London. It is going to break my bank. LOL! I give them 2.00 Dollars and I get 1 lb back that has the buying power of a 1.00 Dollar here in the USA. Maybe I need to come work in the UK for a year or so and send my money home?
