The original sketchpad 4-track demo...a great atmospheric goth rock track....

A bipolar retro blend of moody bass-driven postpunk and catchy upbeat indie rock
Welcome to our little slice o' soundclick. Yes, this is where you'll find She Cries Alone, a small group of multi-instrumentalists with peculiar tendencies toward both moody early 80s postpunk (a la The Cure and Fool's Dance) and upbeat 80s indie rock (think The Pixies). It's an odd yet satisfying blend of well-written bass-driven rock that bounces between dark/atmospheric dirges and undeniably catchy pop songs.

Story behind the song
This song was written and recorded in under an hour on 4-track at Mike Govenettio's house in April 2001 (with Mike handling drum programming and engineering) during the same recording session that produced the song "Mouse Trap" by Mike's band, The Destruction of Nature by Technology, that featured me as guest violinist. This demo recording is really really rough, as most sketchpad demos are..but at least it's an idea of where we're going.. Additional instrument arrangements have been written since this demo and the song will hopefully see a proper release in the near future, possibly as our first single...
Lyrics
Cold grey girl falling forever Each of God's children has a razor wire necklace This red light won't burn forever This black night will seldom sever This is the never world This world doesn't exist Words are still and cold Words are meaningless The empty world where light is vanquished We are bare and cold and famished We are shallow you are envy Worked ourselves into a frenzy This is the never world This world doesn't exist Words are still and cold Words are meaningless
