Listen, enjoy the vocal and guitar or piano music of David Derbes.
NOTE: I've added some piano "instrumental only" songs on my music page. They are labeled as Piano in the title. Most are located towards the bottom of the page. Hi everyone! I'm a 49 year old part-time musician/songwriter with several years of various experiences. My ultimate goal is to have some songs published and recorded. All recordings of the songs were recorded with a simple cassette tape recorder. I'll try to keep the "News" section updated as things develop.

Lyrics
My Job Copyright © 2008 David Derbes Verse 1 Well I don't mind waking every morning. The alternative, I hear, could mean death. And I don't mind the drive to work, it's rather pretty but my job, it seems, to take away my breath. The architect and engineers don't agree The crane is swaying with the slightest breeze. Chorus Well I don't hate my job but I'm there for the pay. And every day gets harder, 'til it's payday I deal with every problem, some as crazy as can be. Well, it's not that i don't like my job But I don't think my job likes me. Verse 2 The secretary calls off sick most Mondays And sometimes when she don't, I wish she did. Because I must endure all her stories about her lazy husband and her kids The foreman says the welder's aren't a weldin', The copier is broke down again. Repeat Chorus Bridge I've heard it said that patience is a virtue. Well, that may be for some, but not with me. I'm countin' down the days 'til my retirement and then I'll count them living free. Chorus Ending my job and me (repeat as ending)
