Listen, enjoy the vocal and guitar or piano music of David Derbes.
NOTE: I've added some piano "instrumental only" songs on my music page. They are labeled as Piano in the title. Most are located towards the bottom of the page. Hi everyone! I'm a 49 year old part-time musician/songwriter with several years of various experiences. My ultimate goal is to have some songs published and recorded. All recordings of the songs were recorded with a simple cassette tape recorder. I'll try to keep the "News" section updated as things develop.

Lyrics
Love and Money Copyright © 2008 David Derbes Verse 1 Well, I had love and money, I had me a good payin’ job. While I was workin’ evenings She was cheatin’ all night long. In a lawyer’s game of dealing (in the, my, game/world) I was dealt my demise. I was left with nothing and she had won the prize. I asked for reconsideration. Judge said, “Boy, I made my decision.” Chorus I had love and money, and a brand new SUV (n’ everythin’ in between.) I was sittin’ high and mighty and could meet most every need. I had love and money, now I’m livin’ humbly (in poverty) an empty heart and bank account, is all she’s left for me. (or she stripped away, from me.) Verse 2 I was thrown out of my house without caring where I sleep. Two Jackson’s in my pocket, are the only friends I keep. Now I’m payin’ alimony to comply with the good judge. It’s nearly half my salary deducted every month.. I asked for reconsideration. Judge said, “Boy, that’s my decision.” Chorus - Bridge I guess I should be glad That I still got my (good) health. She should come labeled Dangerous to your wealth. (or for your wealth) Chorus tag

Dave, You're coming along very nicely on the guitar. Not an easy thing to do without plenty of idle time. I'm glad I picked it up when I was a kid. Good song, a very true to life lament. I can relate. Keep th emusic coming! Peace
