Serial ATA
Driven by the intention to extend the part the breakdancers required for their show, Kool Herc had thought about how to achieve this, and that night in 1974, with the help of two turntables and one mixer, he mixed the rhythm sections of different tracks seamlessly one after the other for the first time. The audience flipped, the breakdancers freaked, and the dance floor exploded. Breakbeat was born.
Since that fateful night in 1974 things have come a long way, always evolving and always changing, led by artists and innovation.
Serial A.T.A are pushing the boundaries of electronica with a synergistic fusion of new school technology with old-school instruments to create their unique style.
Not ones to be constrained to any specific genre, the boys have been known to drop funky Electro House right alongside fresh Breakbeats or spleen pounding Drum n' Bass.
Originating over the Eastern shores of Australia on the sunny Gold Coast where he began producing and playing before he was old enough to drive, Sketch traveled to Perth for a holiday, and simply never went home, he had caught the WA bug.
Collaborating over the internet, bouncing files back and forth across the country became quite tedious for the duo so after a bit of coaxing,(and mention of the caliber of the WA girls) Orpheus flew over to unleash havoc on Western Australia.
Their sets will often see Sketch bust out the electric guitar and lay down floor filling riffs over the top of the killer basslines and funky grooves laid down live by Orpheus. As the night progresses and the masses get frisky, you'll often hear Orpheus, renowned as the greatest poet and lyricist in Greek mythology, whose songs could charm wild beasts and coax rocks and trees into movement, spitting out lyrics on the Mic while Sketch manipulates the tables and drops brain busting synths from the controllers.
