A 'homage' to Ennio Morricone and the Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns.

The Rev. Jaybush is a new band - so new we're still at the rehearsal stage - but we have plenty of songs written, a lot of musical experience and it's only a matter of time before we get out and gigging. Our musical intent is to create something dark, moody, atmospheric, cinematic, totally magnificent and heavy as f*ck. We won't disappoint either! We're not seeking to copy anything already out there - what would be the point of that? But we do tip our hats respectfully in the direction of Nick Cave, Ville Valo and Ennio Morricone - artists capable of painting pictures with music and using the English language to its fullest capacity in tales of heartache and woe (well obviously not Morricone, he's a screen composer, but you get the picture...) We're based in the north London/Hertfordshire region which isn't really relevant because we aim to be gigging all over the UK - and beyond - as soon as humanly possible.

Story behind the song
A 'Barrio' is the name given to the Spanish section of many US towns. The song attempts to create the atmosphere of one of these places at night - lit by firelight and with paranoia and some slightly sinister characters wandering about. It forms the soundtrack to a period western which hasn't been made yet, so use your imagination.
Lyrics
Wind you way into the Barrio Where all intrusive light has dropped and ceased to stare Find the path that’s named ‘Oblivion’ And hope to God you find me waiting there Each to one and all things lost in time Where pain and passion meet to share a dark despair Reach out onto the road ‘Oblivion’ And pray to God you find me walking there.
