The idea to create for the first time in Michigan a Haitian band came from Gaston Cherichel (Tiga) . In 2002 ,when he join with Robenson Cherichel (Son) who was also dreaming of creating a kompa band that could entertain the public's passion for Caribbean music. Magic Kompa is the only kompa band in the State of Michigan. The group's first appearance in the middle of 2003 at the Pheonix night club in Grand Rapids was a huge sucess ; fans from Lansing, Detroit and Grand Rapids knew then that Magic kompa was destined to be among the greatest in the world of kompa music. Live on stage, magic electrifies the crowd with 6 musicians.The voice of Jean L. Esperant(Captain Mike), the magic touch of Patrick Bonhomme(Patruko) lead keybaordist&programer, Donald Talleyrand keybaordist,the spicy groove of Donald Moridon(Tipasket) on the lead guitar, the great vibe of Gaston Cherichel (Tiga Bass)on the bass guitar, vocals and sound engineer, Pierre B. Chateau (Brutcher) the greatest on the Drum and background vocals, Son'n on background and lead vocals and lastly Humberto Familia 2nd bass player. Magic is curently working on the first release and they are also performing live .
