Luna Ray is an electronic/rock project from Kerkrade, The Netherlands. It was founded by Kiron Pubben in 2008. Mixing a wide range of influences together, Luna Ray songs can be poppy or very heavy and include varying amounts of distorted guitar. Also, sometimes Kiron raps or screams instead of singing, but not very often. The first album, Luna Ray, was mostly written and recorded over a few weeks in early 2008, and passed around to friends. An improved version was then released online the following year, while the next album was already being written. After a long period of writing, rewriting, recording, re-recording and finally a lot of tedious mixing work, Carnival of Monsters, the second Luna Ray album, was finally finished and released in the summer of 2011. With two albums under his belt, Kiron is now recruiting a "real" live band as opposed to the irregular, revolving line-up performances of old--taking Luna Ray to explosive new heights.
