Biography: Dee Jones: Dee (DeVonne) Maurice Jones was introduced to the in Danbury CT October 3, 1989 by his mother Selina Bracey. Growing up Dee moved around a lot and had to deal with meeting and losing people constantly, but was always one for trying new things and meeting new people. He did this through music. Since the age of six Dee tried to make sure that he was doing something musical, weather was banging a beat on a table, recording parts of a songs that had no lyrics over and over again on his boom box to make an instrumental, singing in the choir with his long time friend Summer Williams (Up and Coming Singer), mumbling a rhyme or just simply beat boxing, he showed everyone, everywhere at anytime that he had skills. The first time he really made a name was at a local teen night club in Danbury where he was thrown into a rap battle and after he won, he was given presented with the name DJ Nown because the judges made the prediction that he was destined for greatness. In his early teen years him and his new family moved to Waterbury CT, which kept Dee closer to his fatherâs side of his family which consisted of Kevin( an older brother that has been his mentor) ,Denzel( a ride or die cousin that has I drive for music just like him), a aunt who just has an unlimited amount of love for her nephew and a grandmother(R.I.P.) who was his drive for everything. Dee attended the Waterbury Arts Magnet School, where he received two musical awards and exiled in the digital music program, taught by Mr. John Mobilio who provided him with the mental and vocal skills to push him forward in the music industry. While at the school he made new friend that shared the same dream of being able to get there music out to the world, but some did for the fame and glitter where as Dee did it to support his family and give the Music Industry something real. A long the way he met Avery Taylor (long time friend), Jeremy Rucker ( Friend and lead singer for The Other Side), Brian Pratt (long time friend and Boston Manager),Tomas McCray (Lead Guitarist of The Other Side) and Emmanuel Rosado (Long time friend , producer and Co CEO of Split Image Production) and they been together ever since. After he graduated Dee shared a dream with Emmanuel about starting their own label to get there music out to the world since they felt no one was giving them a chance to, so they did. In the fall of 2008 the two produced, recorded and mastered their own album titled the âœClass Ofâ which was the mark of the beginning of their company Split Image Production. Since then the two have signed the first band (The Other Side) and have been hitting the studio trying to make more music and get their names out to the world to do bigger and better things and have promised that there is more to come.
