Lyrics
On the day I was born, the nurses gathered round Head nurse stood up said leave this one alone Doctor came and took me by the hand Said a lot of pain coming for hes a man and its a hard long road IM travelling down Well Ive been in the desert without rain or breeze 7 nights a sailing down 7 darkened seas Been up to the mountaintop paid the gods their due But "Son" they done said " Theres still one thing to do" and its a hard long road IM travelling down Ive heard the liars beck * (maybe a reference to that newscaster) Ive heard the liars call The Sound of a Joshua come fit upon the wall THe roar of the ocean swell in the early morn Cry of an old man dying, the wail of a baby being born and its a hard long road IM travelling down Ive heard a singer's voice true powerful and clear sINGING REJOICE The lord IS coming here And 7 angels trumpets ring the 7 skies And 7 people dying and 7 new born lives and its a hard long road we are all travelling down and 7 prophets speaking in the sand and the dust Saying listen here mIster no CHurch or no Mosque And 7 devils still flying in the red white and blue * (The Fbi listed 7 of the hijackers erroneously as still alive after 9 / 11) And the 7th* son he fathers the hate all in you (a bit of a stretch - Osama Bin Laden is the 17th son on his Father's side) and its a hard long road we're all travelling down Now 7 kings come calling on the 7 hills of Rome 7 years in darkness and 7 years alone 7 loaves of 7 baskets the Lord he put in 7 last plagues and 7 deadly sins and its a hard long road IM travelling down Joshua fit the battle of Jericho 7 times around and 7 times the trumpets toll Verses Not included Been in another lifetime been in another land Where the only thing of virtue was the blood in your hand Ive hidden in the backwoods broke open the tomb While 7 theives and bankers deflied her rooms. Well Ive seen 7 wars and Ill see 7 more 7 nations meeting right by my front door And the crash and the thunder and the bombs in the street and 20 armies marching to that same deadly beat (the G7 etc)

Great job all round here Roger, a very powerful song you've written and very well performed. A nice full sound after the first couple of strums had me intrigued and I will have to listen to some more of your material.

My goodness Roger, this is so amazing! My simple words could never do it justice. The playing, arrangement and signature delivery are absolutely flawless. This is so much better and has a boatload more substance than anything you can hear on the radio, you're definitely one of my favorite pure artists....anywhere!

Hi Roger, Well I have to give you it on this one. These lyrics are a stroke of genius! Weaving a story from your birth to a political statement to the 7th power. Very effective use of the number 7 and the linking of everything is quite effective. Musically I like what you have done with the effects on your guitar. quite a swirl but it builds nicely. Good work. And believe it or not we agree on something.... Neither one of us like Glenn Beck! LOL!
