Story behind the song
I've been on the road since 2002 and last year in Nov after arriving in Florida it dawned on me that as long as I have my guitar along with me that whichever zip code i mioght be in that day or that week or month doesn't really matter. Playing my guitar is the source of my contentment. So..as the first line of gthe song goes... "Put any old zip code after my name!"
Lyrics
Zip Code Boogie - Little Charlie - Nov 3,2009 Put any old zip code right there after my name (x3) Because to me they're all about the same. No matter where I sit, no matter where I stand (x3) I'm already livin' in the promised land. (long as I got my guitar) chorus (A-E) Don't you tell me bout the meaning of life Don't hand me no line bout kids and wife. I'm just here to play these blues. Ain't nobody else gonna walk in my shoes. I've been happy with a litte, been happy with a lot (x3) Happiness is who you are, it sure ain't what you've got. I don't waste my time with worry, don't waste it on regret (x3) Every morning when I wake up it's the best that I've felt yet. (long as I got my guitar) (once around) chorus (A-E) Don't tell me bout the meaning of life? Don't hand me that line bout kids and wife. I'm just here to play these blues. Ain't nobody else gonna walk in my shoes So.. put any old zip code right there after my name (x3) Let me tell you people.. to me they're all about the same. (long as I got my guitar)
