Lyrics
The rain is pouring down and it's a good thing 'Cause I wouldn't want the world to see me cry Too ashamed to ache out in the open Among the passersby It's a good thing that my thoughts are just my own 'Cause I wouldn't want the world to read my mind I couldn't stand the judgment they might render For the evidence they'd find I need a sympathetic judge and jury Merciful and fair Quick to listen, slow to speak Closer than a prayer I need you on my side In my corner You are there Good thing You are there The sun is breaking through and it's a good thing 'Cause the world is weighing heavy on my head There is only so much pain a man can bury Only so much dread I need a sympathetic judge and jury Merciful and fair Quick to listen, slow to speak Closer than a prayer I need you on my side In my corner You are there Good thing You are there
