Story behind the song
Written and sung by Stef Sigfalk who was moved numerous times by the frailness of his geriatric mother and his own reluctancy to hold her tight for fright of injuring her. His inspiration for the opening of the song derived from riding a bicycle through forests where he spent his childhood in the south east of Sweden. The song is dedicated to Stefs mother and the farmlet Ljungbacka where he grew up. He wrote the Swedish flavoured instrumentals for the song sitting with his concertina between the rocks by the Beacon in Baltimore, West Cork, Ireland.
