Story behind the song
Like being in labor for three years. Finally Free is finally done...thank God. Many thanks to Nigel 'Keys' Hardy for the superb keyboard playing and James 'Minerman' Bryson for the most excellent slide guitars in the bridge.

great song, steve. i only gave you 4 suns for lyrics, because they are so counter to the music and melody. the first time i listened, i didn't pay much attention to the words, just grooved on the macca attacca. but on subsequent spins, i read along with the tune and thought: "damn, what's all this, then?". not sure if it's autobiographical, if so; glad you're free. anyway, super tune. sorry i didn't get to it sooner. and judging by the date you posted it, you're overdue for a new one. you'll never get to "OP-er" rank at this pace. cheers, bob
