www.amysudrala.com At the age of 10, I knew I had a passion for music. I would turn to my radio dial and karaoke tapes every time any kind of emotion would arrive in my heart. When I was hurt, it was Mariah Carey, Bonnie Raitt, Belinda Carlisle or Trisha Yearwood. Then other times it was Billy Joel, Sarah McLachlan or Bryan Adams. I did not ever decide on my favorite genre. I didn’t care, as long as it played lyrics and a melody that I liked. I would catch myself at school daydreaming about being up on stage while the audience sang melodies that originated from my thoughts of life. I knew I had to make music a part of my existence. After outgrowing show-choirs, musicals and karaoke, going after my childhood dream of being an entertainer was a few roads away in Nashville, Tennessee. At the age of 22 I packed up my things and took a chance. Listening to Sheryl Crowe, The Indigo Girls and The Cowboy Junkies influenced me to reach my destination. Working as a radio personality on a morning show for a local radio station I was able to achieve many of my goals promptly. I performed with Daryl Singleterry’s band, opened for Jette Williams (of Hank Williams) and was able to meet a lot of fascinating people. I met a talented songwriter by the name of Shane Stenstrom and a producer named Gary Oleyar. With my penny-pinching budget, we were able to put together two songs, “Was it Something I Said” and “If I Could Look Into Your Eyes”. My compassion for music is even stronger now as I sit at my keyboard and sing and strum my guitar to Evanescence, Tori Amos and Norah Jones. Notes and keys linger around my knowledge of life. Everything I do and everything that happens, good or bad pushes me closer and closer to music..

Lyrics
The only time I hear your voice, I leave a message at the tone. And now I’m spending lonely nights, waiting by the telephone. I think about everything that we used to do, I thought we had a good thing going, thought you felt that way too. Was it something I said when I was in your arms? When I looked in your eyes, did I say something wrong? I tried to give you my heart, did I scare you instead. Oh, tell me, was it something I said. Maybe it was when we kissed on that moonlit night. I never wanted it to end and I felt the time was right. Maybe it was way to soon for me to say. I never thought that three little words could ever push you away. Was it something I said when I was in your arms? When I looked in your eyes, did I say something wrong? I tried to give you my heart, did I scare you instead. Oh, tell me, was it something I said. Was it something I said when I was in your arms? When I looked in your eyes, did I say something wrong? I tried to give you my heart, did I scare you instead. Oh, tell me, was it something I said. Baby, tell me was it something I said.
