Gonna Do (featuring The Faceless Family)
No rap isn't of the devil. It was God's first, intended to be pure, so we as Christian rappers are taking it back and we won't sell out even if we do get disrespected.

"Praise the LORD in song, for He has done excellent things;
Let this be known throughout the earth."
(Isaiah 12:5)
Story behind the song
There are a lot of old school people in my area that think rap only glorifies a destructive often ghetto lifestyle and therefore has no place in the church. I however have seen it change lives and bring glory to Christ firsthand thru many rappers. You know it's God by it's fruits, so I'm sayin I'm'll keep doin' this because I love Jesus and seeing souls get saved and lives get touched more than I love having church approval. Also I ain't sellin out like the world wants me to because I know that sooner or later this movement is gonna take over and reshape the church because I know a lot of people in the church body who believe and are very supportive.
Lyrics
Chorus...
Hey there Soul Reel, whatcha gonna do
Whatcha gonna do, yeah, gonna do
Let me tell you what I'm gonna do, uh, gonna do
I'm'll tell you what I'm gonna do, uh, gonna do
Jesus never made me do anything that I didn't want to do
So why should you
And what do I got to prove, I got everything to lose
my eternity, salvation, knock the dirt off of my shoes
And move on to the next man, I'll take the scar and bruise
It might be old to you, but to some it's current news
It's one less teary eye streaming endless in the night
It's one less bright promise stolen from a drive-bye
It's one less convulsion leading to an overdose
It's one less hopeless face with a nuese around it's throat
It's one less orphaned child with no family in the cold
It's a promise no matter who we are we gonna have a home
So I'm chasin after souls like you chase for dollar bills
as I hurt like Johnny Cash, I got one turn and that's real
For all eternity I'll think of how I used my time
Tryin to syncronize it wisely, cuz it's borrowed and not mine
Chorus(2X)...
Sometimes it even seems my own people are against me
They say rap is of the devil and soon he gonna get me
But so was rock-n-roll and yet they bump them songs of old
on their FM radios when they cruisin down the road
Now I laid my head with demons and done some things which I'm not proud
But when I gave my life to Christ, like James Brown He said it loud
He said, My son, I've gifted you, now here's what you gotta do
Find children that's abused and with your flow tell them My news
So when the Faceless Comp dropped, I proclaimed that I won't stop
building hope on solid rock, staying ticking like a clock
I let my vocal glock pop, pull my splinters, clean my shop
Take the focus off myself, I'm just a servant with a mop
So stone me like I'm Stephen, try and label me a heathen
But Jesus is the reason why I'm breathin and I'm singin
and I'm screamin thru this hip hop ghetto boogy sound
Satan get behind me, for religion shall be bound
Chorus(2X)...
I won't change, I won't compromise
and waste away this passion that burns deep inside
Given by Christ to go save some lives
If you wanna shut me up then you'll have to take my life
I won't change, I won't compromise
and waste away this passion that burns deep inside
Given by Christ to go save some lives
If you wanna shut me up then you'll have to take my life
Chorus(4X)...
