Story behind the song
I wrote this song thinking about how sad it is that we have to abandon our imaginary friends we have as children. i wanted to say good-bye to my forgotten imaginary friends "the boys".
Lyrics
sunlight hits you with her rays and i laugh about it now how you would just chase lightning bugs in the fading daylight oh how i recall them days so please don't go, my friend it's not too late to pretend so please don't go, my friend now that your standing in my doorway i'll never see you again.. you walked silent like a grave now that my house is empty like a train you laughed exactly the same way with sorrow i recall them days so please don't go, my friend it's not too late to pretend so please don't go, my friend it's not too late to pretend now that you're standing in my doorway i'll never see you again (sad solo) you had such a pretty face i'm staring at your picture but there's only empty space fire in the golden sky i hope that i will see you by and by.. so please just go, my friend it's just too late to pretend so please just go, my friend now that you're standing in my memory i'll never see you again.. (second sad solo)
