Story behind the song
This song was inspired by L.P. Hartley's famous novel, with its immortal opening line "The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there". Another influence was the sexy Jenny Von Oy who played "Six" in the hit American sit-com "Blossom" As i sing "something bout' that six chick just does it for me!"
Lyrics
There's a place that I want you to see It's called the past, wont you come along with me? It is a foreign country and they do things so differently At least according to L.P. Hartley In the past there's always blossom on the trees In my past blossoms always on t.v. Something 'bout that "Six" chick just does it for me Anyway enough about her, this song is supposed to be about L.P. Hartley. It's a beautiful time but you can not go back You are a different person and you have to face that fact It's a beautiful place but its a place in time, it isn't there anymore yeah it has been left behind (left behind) In a travelling grave in a Knightsbridge Cemetary Lay the bones of a man who helped me to see actually he was cremated but that's between you and me Anyway, RIP L.P. Hartley

I would prefer less electrics, apart from that excellent.

Did I mention I love this song? Super stuff, Love the new page look!
Now here´s a classic! I love it. Nice guitar tone really sticking out. A full beatlish band backing, even a girls choir, and, well, the story of LP Hartley A atrue tribute: Very well done! A hit for sure. To me the overall vocal work is something really special including all the backing vocs. And the acoustic guitar solo! Brilliant! One thing I could definitely live without is the beginning and the end with sound fx. I do know what you mean but I would without that, too! Congrats, great pop song! Cheers from Frankfurt Andreas
