My music is a collage of world themes and sounds. It is often peaceful and it sounds like it would belong in a movie soundtrack.
I was born in Logan Utah. When I was three my family moved to Olympia Washington. My parents introduced me to their antique upright piano when I was five years old, and my love for the piano began. When I was ten my parents separated and I moved to Seattle, Washington with my mother and away from the piano. The next year I was given my first keyboard and I began to compose my first melodies. When I was 14 I moved back in with my dad and was reunited with the piano. In the years that followed I continued to create music on the piano. In early 2000 I got my first Roland synthesizer and began exploring different world music themes. In the ensuing years I expanded my repertoire and produced sixteen CDs. In 2005 my mother gifted me my very own piano. My music can best be described as melodic, emotional, and varied. My other passion is fine art. Since I was old enough to hold a pencil I was drawing mountains and nature landscapes. My band name is derived from my love of painting. All cover art is from my original paintings. The painting on the cover of 'What it Is to Love' was inspired by a trip to the Olympic Rain Forest in Washington State.

Beautiful,really nice melody and playing
I love the piano sound, its got just the right tone and has a great midrange.the verb and ambiance is fabulous.
A real classy tune.
I think maybe the (kick?low tom?)could either come up just a tad or go away.when It first comes in,its not quite recognizable until the second time it comes up and you know what your hearing.Just my thoughts.
But Ian........Great work in any case
Thanks for sharing this.

Beautiful piano work, Ian. (This IS a real piano....isn't it?? - if it's the Roland, then I've been fooled)!!! I hope one day, I will be able to play this well!
Very nice piece Ian! Pensive, Quiet, and Reflective. Very Calming to the soul of the listening spirit. Bravo.....
