I had my first 4 track cassette recorder when I was 16 and I've still got most of the recordings, but you won't find those here! Some funny, some stupid, some ok bits, lots of rubbish! 30 years later I'm still writing and recording my own stuff - drum machine, bass, guitars and keyboards - (which I'm learning). Soundclick is breathing a bit of new life into my music - it's giving me an outlet, a meeting space, a place of inspiration. I hope that in the coming year, there will be some collaborations and swapping of music, thoughts and ideas. I do seem, however, to be spending an awful lot of time at this computer.........

Story behind the song
This came about from a discussion about lead breaks on critic's corner. Chas mentioned something about standing in the 'sweet spot' of an amplifier on the verge of going nuclear......and I thought 'oh, yeah' that has to be a song! So I sent Chas some music - it came back with lyrics and melody and then we traded some lead playing. A lot of fun. Enjoy.
Lyrics
we have masses on the left, and masses on the right there's never time to listen, but there's always time to fight mothers bleeding, children dying in the name of foolish pride both sides looking to the sky and knowing god is on their side In our high tech world and our high tech minds we could see the windows op-en if it wasn't for the blinds there's no room left for reason, it's been crowded out by fate no need getting their hands dirty, while our leaders clean the slate There's no hiding and will be no deciding by you All the pawns on the board have been replaced by the king and the last battle cry is the song that he sings, by going nuclear For everything there is a season, a beginning and an end when the winds of change are blowing, even sturdy trees still bend there's no middle left to anchor, in the sea of most and least just a cry of great divide, and thus collides the west and east It's the very same battle that's been fought before and the lesson that was learned, was the lesson we ignore it's history repeating, it was written long ago as the final curtain raises, for the last act in the show There's no hiding and will be no deciding by you All the pawns on the board have been replaced by the king and the last battle cry will be the last song he sings, by going nuclear

wow, i love this kinda shuffle blues song, really great song
Hey Junior & Chas, well this is my kind of music! Outstanding lyrics. Well looks that´s how it is, plain and simple. going nuke, well.... Great piece! Music: Tasteful, delightful! Ultra-good sounding backing, like all about it, bass, strumming, guitar, drums. And hey, the guitar sounds, just as I expected are really BIG! Both channels left and right! A masterpiece. I highly recommend this piece! Cheers Andreas

the lyrics are my favorite part of this song...and this line is my fav "when the winds of change are blowing, even sturdy trees still bend" how true, sometimes sad when it happens, but true. Chas, how excellent these lyrics are, you create pictures in my mind with each verse. As previously mentioned...Dylanish vocals, very nice, works so well with this whole project LOVE the guitar solo's at the end, very nice piano playing too.....magnificent production both of you.....better do it again I say!! :) thanks for letting me know about this gem! ~strummergurl~

This is a jazz/blues tune that supports this soft spoken vocal (with a bit of an easy rasp). I enjoyed the wah guitar backing, and the finely crafted lyrics that flowed well in the song. The dueling guitar solo’s didn’t interfere with each other, but accented well.

Ya had me from the opening bell. EXCELLENT poetry...verse that would put a very large smile on one of my biggest lyrical heroes, Bob Dylan. Then comes some oh so sweet guitar work. Well thought out riffs and killer tones. Sweet stuff man...one fine collab!
