Lyrics
On My Own Verse 1 I’ve been working for somebody else, just about all my years Punching a clock, clutching a shamrock, hoping to sooth my fears I always prayed that the bossman paid, but I had to beware If I had some flair, I’d move upstairs, and get somewhere Bridge 1 Well I must have been out of the room When they were talking bout the time I’d lose And my time, yes my time, is all I have Verse 2 Well I’ve been discussing with myself, where I’m gonna go from here I’m getting sick of all of the tricks, it all seems so insincere The clocks uh tick’n, and the plot keeps uh thick’nin, I gotta make a move soon Gotta feelin inside, I just gotta ride, my way out of this doom Bridge 2 I used to be so confused My talents, they were all abused And my time, yes my time, is all I have Yes it’s time for me to take a stand Chorus On my own I’ll take the blows, I’ll take the hit I’ll keep on tickin cause I just won’t quit On my own No safety net, no lifeline rope I’m gonna make it if I just don’t choke On my own ….I’ll make it on my own Instrumental Bridge 3 I used to be so confused My talents, they were all abused And my time, yes my time, is all I have Yes it’s time for me to take a stand End: No safety net, no lifeline rope I’m gonna make it if I just don’t choke Adlive postlude
