An amalgam of anything that passes thru one ear and out the other -- see our Interview page for details.
In our music, you'll hopefully find everything -- rock, orchestral, trip-hop, spacey/ambient, whatever -- most times all in one tune!! Mwah-ha-ha.... We follow no labels, guidelines, trends -- we write what we feel at any given moment; industrial one moment, folk the next. You might hear smatterings of Floyd/Waters/Gilmour, a touch of Mike Nesmith, some Metheny, maybe even some Vangelis or 80's pop, classic rock, sheer noise, Air, Terje Rypdal, and if you really stretch in order to make us seem more relevant to the times, maybe some of The Shins, Sigur Ros, etc. Basically anything that makes a noise can inspire us.

Story behind the song
A decision to write a song based not on my own personality or experiences, but from the P.O.V. of a complete chauvanist pig (hope that's the opposite of me!), starting off as a seemingly touching love song. A BIG "I'm Huge" to Matt for making a legible arrangement from cryptic scribblings/made-up rhythmic shorthand and hastily (possibly even drunkenly) made versions done on a 1974 Sears cassette recorder. Or something really mono.
Lyrics
You sighed your own sweet song tonight; the "hall" was in my head. You whispered low, I heard your eyes -- so silent then, to my surprise... "Promise me the nighttime lasts," you breathed into my ear. Promised all, you misconceived; in the utter end, I deceived... I gotta be frank, I'll make sure your heart burns, and that thoughts of me are dancing in your head. I gotta give voice to these mute considera- tions and ideas of entertaining you in bed... Don't expect any thoughtful words or sensitive remarks; I'll respect you (NOT!) for who you are, but for what you do to me in the dark. I can openly say that I'm not attuned, to any skittish romantic play. Driven to pure acts of lust by the prospect of an easy lay... I gotta be blunt: I'll make you think ungodly thoughts, while I'm prayin' for some Providential luck. I'll be straight-up: I'll make sure your soul pounds with the rhythm of that long-awaited--OW! ----- I gotta be frank, I'll make sure your heart burns, and that thoughts of me are dancing in your head. Yeah, that thoughts of me are dancing in your head. Yeah, I'll make sure that thoughts of me dance in your head!

Love the snare hits on this. Silly thing to focus on, I admit, but the snare sounds just awesome, especially in the unexpected fast tempo bursts and the fill patterns. Ironic devices in full force lyrically. Great character development for a play or movie I would reckon, this describes a very self honest and despicable character and does so very well.
