Formed in the year 2000 in Livermore, California "The Chairs" are Tor Hougen, Eric Prust and his wife Donna. Most of their tunes typically use various combinations of the banjo, fiddle, guitar and bass. Every now and then you'll hear the mandolin and dobro as well. Tor usually sings lead and plays guitar, clawhammer banjo. mandolin and the juice harp. Eric Prust usually sings backup, and plays both bluegrass and clawhammer banjo, as well as the fiddle, guitar, dobro, mandolin and harmonica. Donna Prust plays the bass and also sings lead occasionally. The Prust's now live on a farm in Sequim, Washington and Tor continues to live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Lyrics
I Know You Rider Traditional I lay down last night, Lord, could not take my rest I lay down last night, Lord, could not take my rest My mind was wandering like the wild geese in the West. I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms. (break) The Sun's gonna shine in my back door someday. The Sun's gonna shine in my back door someday. The cold March wind's gonna blow my cares away. I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms. (break) I wish I was a headlight, on an East bound train I wish I was a headlight, on an East bound train I'd shine my light through the cool Colorado rain. I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms. (break) I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms.
