Story behind the song
I have set myself the challenge of writing 3 pieces in an orchestral setting on the Easter theme in time for Easter 2009. It's good to have a deadline!

Wow..., Impressed. The rhtymic introduction (really deserves a real orchestra performance) gives pace to a very lyrical horns and piano and again the conclussion full of tension until the rain comes to resolution. That piece should be promoted to have a live performance. Best of the best. Luis

The approach to this event is really difficult - I know that for sure. Last year I wrote the first tune in the "Circle of Life project" and that was Easter. Took me several days to put together the lyrics the right way and develope music that could support it. I think you have done a fantastic work with this tune. VERY well written and the emotion are right in bulls eyes. Yes - I really enjoy this music. And you have the thunder in it as well :)

Hi :) Sorry, I was busy so I didn't have time to listen. And now when I listen this; this is beautiful! great string-arrangements and that horn sections with french horn and some high note saxophone was amazing! Lovely theme music. Theme for death, theme for birth...

Very expressive work, Derek! Jiri
Derek, I´m speechless before this piece of music. It shows in music, what Jesus did for us and how much He loved us. I needed to hear this today, even though it shows the agony and cruelty, it ministers the greatest love of our Lord to me. Is.53:7 "He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth." Thank you, Jesus, my Savior! And thank you, Derek, for giving yourself to God´s use when creating this music. Lea
