a bluesy sort of upbeat song that would be something the Grateful Dead would jam out to.

Story behind the song
Check's In The Mail is about when John and I played at a local bar and right as we were about to start our show, the booking agent told us "the check's in the mail". Little did we know, that check wouldnt get to us for three weeks and we needed the scratch! So, we wrote this tune about it
Lyrics
Well I wake up in the mornin',
little stretch, little yawnin'.
rockets go and I'm ready to fly.
I gotta stack of bills,
like arnolds got the kills,
guess I'll kiss my credit goodbye.
It's been three long weeks,
ain't heard no word,
like a prisoner that needs the bail.
Phone calls and telegrams,
gotta get the cheddar man,
Hm guess the checks in the mail.
Chorus:
Gotta get that green,
or else my old ladies gonna give me the shoe,
got to have my paper,
cause i got the checks in the mail blues
Landlords and creditors,
bad checks and debters,
always seem to know where I am.
I run, run, run,
but as soon as I'm done,
I'm sittin' face to face with the man.
Ooh Got the checks,
checks in the mail,
checks in the mail blues.
Whoa said it'd be in my box today,
but I guess I lose.
Chorus:
Gotta get that green,
or else my old lady's gonna give me the shoe,
yeah got to get my paper,
cuz i got the checks in the mail blues.
a very nice blues track, well performed. love Hayley
