yadam, acoustic, cuban,universal,pop, folk
Originally from Cuba, Yadam’s sights were always set on exploring the rest of the world. After finishing his education in Havana he left Cuba for Europe in search of a new life and a better future. After nearly ten years living in Denmark he moved to Spain, where he settled in the hope that one day he could call it home. However his Caribbean roots, the unique blend in which Indian, Black and European opposites merge into one unique culture, remained nestled deep within his psyche.
Having spent years honing his craft surrounded by a group of exceptionally talented musicians, YADAM realised it was the right time for him to make his own mark, one that would identify him as a man and musician. He gathered a group of eleven musical numbers who collaborated to produce Confesión, their first record for Universal Music Spain. On this record YADAM effortlessly bares his soul, leaving a small trace of it in each one of the tracks. It speaks out to people across the world, imprinting a message on the minds of those who enjoy good music.
YADAM’S closest friends pulled their efforts together to produce a record that stands out as a familiar yet intimate work. The artist is identified in each musical note and his voice truly finds its niche, a niche that has been awaiting him with open arms for quite some time.
Confesión is made all the richer for unique contributions from artists such as Iván González (Melón), one of the great characters of Cuban piano and Latin jazz, the rhythms of Alfredo Chacón’s percussion, Pablo Serrano’s drumming, John Sund’s acoustic guitar and natural rhythm, the voices of Marie Louise and Gema and Pavel, and of course the help and constant commitment from YADAM’S closest friend and colleague, Javier Monteverde.
YADAM is an artist through and through. He is committed to top-quality productions and so has composed, arranged and produced the entire record. Confesión marks the start of a brilliant musical career for Yadam as a composer on the international music scene. With unparalleled sound and lyrics that set him apart from his peers, he captures and reflects a way of life, a means of seeing reality from his own perspective where customs and the things that identify him resonate through his music.
.
We will leave the final word for YADAM, who explains that.“The philosophies and disciplines that I want to surround my work relate to humility, simplicity, respecting what we believe in, and defending our dreams. For all these reasons, I carry on believing in the music that friends create among themselves..... music born from the soul”
