Going through dry seasons of life, we all yearn for refreshing. Like a cool drink of water to our weary lives, there is no refreshing that can compare with a touch from the Lord Himself.

Story behind the song
Writing this song was simply putting into words what I was experiencing in my life at the time. Having walked for several years through a very dry season, my heart cry was for the Lord's touch to quench my hunger and thirst. Then as gently as a cool breeze, His refreshing was poured out on me.
Lyrics
OUT OF THE STILL NIGHT Words and Music By Carolyn J. Vargas Copyright © 1997 (ASCAP) Out of the still night Comes a breeze I have not known Until this time Soft and gentle flow Coming forth from the throne of God Cool, refreshing breeze Sweeping over My tired, weary soul Giving me new strength As I stand before my goal Oh Father Breathe your spirit on me again Lead me out of this desert land Help me stand in the face of sin Oh Father Pour on me balm of Gilead Heal my wounds, Father, take my hand Soothe the brokenness deep within my heart Swirling all around I delight in your sweet, calming breeze Deeply drinking in You embrace every part of me Swaying with your touch I am stirred by the peace you renew Never more in need Of the hope that I know is true Oh Father
