Wow Chas, veeeeeery slow blues, veery explicit words about songs in the radio (well, you know, this is how I make my money, - being a radio anchor here in Germany, so I might better not comment on your phrase here) First of all, I like songs that come in 3´s like 3/4 6/8. I really wonder why all the popular music today more or less comes in 4´s. So the waltz factor here. Very good drum, bass and piano, Hammond, arrangement, exquisit guitar playing here. I´m not really sure about the sax and the synths though, to me these instruments kind of don´t fit in this mix I´d say. Okay, a rainy day, low down feeling, sad songs, empty bottles. Paying the ladies´ bills.... Well the WORKS I´d say, the human TRAGEDY put in very new words. Farewell and goodbye, search for even worse words to call someone. These lyrics are sad but masterful. I really like it, though I am not a fan of neither suicide nor murder. Anyway. Here´s a singer stuck in trouble, as deep as it gets. And the

This paints the perfect picture of someone down on their luck sitting in a bar after having had a few jars, lol. Love the way it starts as pretty much a conversation and builds into a great bluesy number. Great attitude in the lyrics and music - works a treat. Very nice guitar work, great use of the brass and I like the gentle ending with the keys.
