DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Story behind the song
The heart of a fool is in his mouth, but the mouth of a wise man is in his heart" - Benjamin Franklin
Lyrics
THE FOOL HAS SAID The fool has said within his heart That there is no God The Lord looks down from heaven to see If someone understands They’ve all become corrupt and choose Nighttime over day They’ve all become corrupt and turned Each one to his own way The fool has said within his heart God no longer cares I do just as I please because No blame will come my way Don’t waste my time with pious talk Of God and righteousness I’ve made my choice to live this way And I’ll bear the consequence The wise man says within his heart In God I do believe He seeks to live his life with all In perfect harmony His delight is in God’s Word He seeks to do His will The Lord shall keep His hand on him And guard him from all ill The fool has said within his heart Don’t think it very odd For me to live so selfishly And leave no time for God I make my own decisions When all is said and done I live my life by the golden rule Look after number one
